What makes the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, the Greatest!

Introduction

The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek is one of India’s most stunning trekking trails. There is no denying it. It reaffirms Kashmir’s legendary position. Earth’s Paradise

It’s a wonderful sight because the voyage is put on a broader canvas than life. It is 75 kilometers northeast of Srinagar. It provides a panoramic view of steep mountains, undulating meadows, and a turquoise alpine lake from all sides. There are more than seven lakes, five valleys, and other great spots to explore.

Below are a few points that will justify what makes the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, the Greatest!

  1. While on the journey, take in the breathtaking alpine scenery.

Many Himalayan treks provide amazing views. The Great Lakes of Kashmir, on the other hand, are on a different scale. This is how the Kashmiri mountains appear. Their presence is palpable all around you. A walk across Kashmir is not overstated when it is said that it is like watching IMAX on a TV screen while everything else is on an ordinary TV screen. Kashmir is a place where you may feel everything.

2.The variety of valleys and meadows

The Kashmir Great Lakes journey requires seven days of walking. In addition, you will travel across seven different valleys. Over the duration of the walk, each valley is spread out. Each valley is a fierce rival to the one before it. Six of the seven valleys are different grasslands or meadows that you can hike through. High passes connect these high-altitude meadows and grasslands. Meadows should be the same on both sides of a pass, right? They’re not. Each one has its own universe and allure.

Start with the Shekdar meadows, also known as tabletop meadows, which are surrounded by Maple and Birch trees. The Nichnai grasslands show how big and rough meadows can get. Cross the Nichnai pass and you’ll find yourself in a meadow you won’t want to be in.

The Vishnusar grassland is a broad, gently descending grassland with abundant wildflowers and a quiet stream running across it.

There is a nice creek that runs through it. The Gadsar meadow appears to be more striking. It has more craggy mountains on its sides and is narrower. A big Gadsar dominates the central terrain, but it leads to numerous smaller lakes. The valley is awash in wildflowers.

Climbing up the “Windows wall paper “Valley of Satsar will take you to the top of the Gadsar valley. Satsar meadows are distinguished by a smooth, well-kept green lawn with a few maple trees and horses grazing. I’ve never seen grass greener than this.

  1. The bodies of water

In any discussion of the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, the lakes are a must-see. I had only seen a few photos of the lakes before starting my exploration and assumed they were altered images from a Scandinavian country. Our highlands did not have any lakes like these. The color of these high-altitude lakes changes throughout the day. Clear in the morning, sea green in the afternoon, light blue in the evening, and inky blue at night The spectacular lake beauty of Vishnusar, Kishansar, and the sea-green Gadsar with its ice floes will leave you speechless.

The remaining grassland is the Gangabal swath. It’s almost as if you’re looking at a green globe map in the valley below Zaj pass. In the blue, Gangabal resembles Africa! It has Nandkol on its side. There are four lakes sprinkled around the lush terrain. The trek’s meadows are the biggest and most crucial reason for me to appreciate KGL.

  1. Kashmir’s vibrant colors

The best time to visit the Great Lakes KGL is in July/August or early September. It is monsoon season in India during these months, although the rains on the PirPanjal side are substantially less. Summer rains continue to fall in the mountains, and the flowers bloom in a kaleidoscope of hues.In different valleys, different colors can be found. Pinks, purples, and yellows, as well as whites, are all present.

Seasonally, the flowers change. The sky and grass colors, as well as the rocks, water, and water, all add to the trek’s grandeur. It’s easy to believe that Kashmir’s green is more vivid than Kashmir’s blue. Each color has a high saturation level.
